Overview

Sandtex 10 Year Primer Undercoat paint is a multi-surface, exterior, primer and undercoat that provides the perfect base for the application of Sandtex® exterior gloss and satin paints, with 10 years’ trusted protection against the elements. Formulated to ensure a long-lasting finish it is ideal for preparing doors, sheds, window frames, railings, garden furniture and more. Developed by Sandtex to save time and money by removing the need for two separate products and available in two colours to best suit your top coat.

All products in the Sandtex® 10 Year Primer Undercoat range are packaged in fully recyclable materials.

Preparation

Ensure the surfaces is clean, dry and free from dirt and grease as this may affect adhesion.

• Grey or weathered wood will need to be sanded back to a clean smooth surface.
• Bare wood - treat any knots or resinous deposits with a stain blocker or knotting solution.
• Abrade any previously painted surfaces to help adhesion and remove any loose or flaking paint.
• Fill any gaps, cracks, or holes with a suitable exterior filler, for wood we recommend .
• Apply a suitable metal primer on any bare metal surfaces.

Application

Do not apply if there is a risk of rain or if the temperature is likely to fall below 8°C. We recommend performing a test patch to ensure you are happy with the finished results.

• Stir well and apply using a brush.
• Apply evenly and avoid overspreading.
